How to Use Facelift for Facebook/Twitter/Instagram Posts
Once logged in, you’ll want to filter the posts you see on the calendar to STPF posts only:
- To the right of the screen, you will see a sidebar with an eye and message icon, click on the message icon.
- Then, click “Filter”
- At the bottom, under “Tag”, select “All of”
- Then, in the middle under “Profiles”, select the “STPF” Account
- Finally, click “Apply”
Once this is completed, you have now isolated all posts related to STPF.
Calendar View
You can view scheduled posts on the calendar using four different views: List, Day, Week, and Month
To schedule a post
- In the top right corner, click “Create Post”
- To the left of the page, you will set the date and time the post will be released.
- Click on the empty box next to “Publish date”
- Select the date and time the post is to be published.
- Double check the listed “Post owner” below is ‘Kat Song’ or your name
- Next, you will select which profiles you are scheduling a post for: Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram; located to the right of the page.
- When you have selected your desired platform(s), click “Add/Remove Selection” below
To View Saved/Draft Posts:
- If you want to find your old posts click on the “Filter Icon” below the green create post button.
- Select “Status” and choose "To Be Approved"
*Note: Facelift only allows 280 characters in a tweet
- To direct the post to the STPF Twitter page, click the empty box next to “Target handle”below.
- Select “S&TPolicyFellowships” from the dropdown list
- Type (or copy/paste) the text for the post, where the placeholder text says “Message” under the profile name and picture
- Add an image by clicking on the box that holds the “+ Add item” text

- In the top right corner of the “Media Library” window, select “Dropbox” or “Upload Files”
- Select your photo(s) and have them downloaded into the library
- Then, you can select them from the library and it to the post

*Upload Files is sourcing from the computer; Dropbox sources from Dropbox files
- Once done, click “Direct Publish” or “Publish”in the top right corner.
- If only a draft or unsure of a date & time, click “Save” beside the “Publish” button
- To edit, click on the post from the Calendar view page
- Click “Stop Publishing” in the top right corner and edit
- Proceed to publishing procedure when done
- To direct the post to the STPF Facebook page, click the empty box next to the green “+” button below.
- Select “AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships” from the dropdown list
- Type (or copy/paste) the text for the post, where the placeholder text says “Message” under the profile name and picture
- Add an image by clicking on the box that holds the “+ Add item” text

- To add a link, select “Link” above the post area
- Enter the link in the URL Link box and the rest of the information will fill out below
*You will notice that an image from the link and summary will appear below your message; in this case, there’s no need to add a photo.
- Once done, click “Direct Publish” or “Publish”in the top right corner.
- If only a draft or unsure of a date & time, click “Save” beside the “Publish” button
- To edit, click on the post from the Calendar view page
- Click “Stop Publishing” in the top right corner and edit
- Proceed to publishing procedure when done
- Direct Post Option
- Choose “Create New Post”
- Select Instagram as the network
- Choose option “Direct Publish”if it’s a post with no links embedded
- If links included go to “Publish with Facelift Cloud App”
- Choose the Publication Time
- Add text, images, and videos as needed
- Specify which users should get notified by email at the scheduled publication time.
- Click on “Schedule Post to Plan”
Creating Posts with Links
- When creating posts that utilize a link (with or without a campaign string) be sure to click on Shorten Link.
How to Create Dashboards on FaceLift
- Click on the drag down option on the left corner and choose "dashboard"
- Once on the page click on the show all dashboards tab on the left side of the screen.
- From there click on Create Dashboard.
- From there you'll be presented with this screen.
- Select the relevant template/account you want to use from the drag down screen, and your dashboard will be created.
- You will have to adjust the individual widgets and choose which KPI's you want to monitor. But here's a basic look at part of a completed Dashboard.
